"How to Treat Your Rotator Cuff"

Workout:
None.

Got a new book on shoulder injuries today, "Treat Your Own Rotator Cuff" by Jim Johnson. I'm anxious to get rid of the pain/discomfort with the shoulder, in certain movements ... I want things back "the old way" ... before pain!

So, instead of working out, I ended up reading the book. Interesting read. A lot of research-based information (the research discussed on strength gains, follows what P90X does). I did the stretching exercises in it. I only have pain in my right shoulder, but, I'm going to work on both shoulders.

The stretches didn't feel strenuous to me. I went through them, but, didn't hold them for the full 30 seconds recommended. (Mostly, because I was just testing them out.)

Between nap-time, and reading the thin, little book, I ran out of time to do a "real" workout. I am going to try to do the stretches on most days. And, the strength exercises are to be done once a week.

Goals:
  1. Workout.
  2. Eat 5-6 small meals every day.
  3. Eat "clean".
  4. Drink 6 bottles of water.
  5. Stop eating at least 3 hours before bedtime.
  6. Get enough sleep!!
  7. Take my vitamins.

Hi my name is Michael I've been a fitness professional for 15 years now, and I've decided to change up my workouts, by doing the P90x with my wife to be also a fitness professional, we literally started yesterday and to be honest I can't wait till today to do part two. I must admit the intensity for some can be a bit over whelming. Now I was reading your daily blog and I wanted to comment, it seems you started off good, however I noticed you missed or decided to not workout for a number of days. I believe your mind is in wanting to achieve your goals, however i don't think your heart is there. I don't want to come off as being some sort of prick, I just want to help you realize that you could have achieved greater results than you did in 90days. Think about for a second? You said you did make some progress , perhapes you have more energy and from the photos it does look like you did loose a bit of weight. However i can say that if your were to stick to any intense weight training routine for 90 days you should have made better progress. I'm not saying this to offend you, sometimes it takes an outside source to put things in prespective. To give you a real scoop of reality, i'm saying this because I want you to achieve your goals, in fact I love what I do so much I want everyone to excel at an optimal level. ASk yourself this question "whats more important living long without sickness and optimal fitness or living just as long as you can within an average/below average fitness level, high levels of stress, always feeling tired, a few health scares along the way, and a grater risk of a cardiovascular health issue" ? Myself I rather be a fit and healthy man and live to 99, than be a a man that have average fitness and live to 100. I only say this because nothing is a gauarntee to live longer, however I can bet you that the odds would be in my favour. Here's a tip "put you first" I noticed you do some tailgating parties with friends and such, you gotta stop that, trust me I know how fun they are , but the worse thing is trying to keep those calories away, I don't care how healthy of meals you brought, you gotta stop doing that, and feeling dizy and having headaches in one of your post, is as a result of poor nutrition. Did you know that 95% of all headaches and bouts of Migranes are nutrition realted?. Just eat clean, for example; consume 5 smaller meals a day consisting a portion of protein (usually the size of a deck of cards) a carb prefebaly complex brown rice or lentils of whole wheat pasta, that should comprise for about 1/4 of your plate, and a fibrpous veggie or fruit comprising the other 1/4. Now later in the evning you should dish the carbs and focus on eating just protein and vegtables. If you want to treat yourself, i suggest doing it once every week or once every other week, and that doesn't mean binging, that means picking one thing and only one thing to enjoy at that end of the week. It also means not eating 20 wings but 10, 1 slice of pizza(regular, not a double size) not 2 or 3 or half a pizza. it means 2 drinks max on the weekend not a drunken fest and one more example eating 1/2 cup of ice cream, not a cup and than some spoonfulls before it's put away. What ever your food craving is, you'll find if you have your meal planning uin place, your blood sugar levels will stay healthy and you won't crave the sweets or salts as much and you won't feel hungry and binge at one meal, because your meals are nutritious and consitent. If you would lie to reach me my email is massiveredhead@hotmail.com. and check out our website www.activebodyconditioning.com
I'm not trying to sell you anything, just keeping you informed because I want you to achieve your goals.

ps - when I meant think about you, it means put you first and not your tailgate buddies , because your health is more important than having fun at tailgate party. If yor friends respect you and love you they will respect your choices and maybe just maybe they might get inspired to do the same.

Say to yourself "BRING IT"
